Classic Yacht Regatta 2011: Final Results
12-Meter Valiant, owned by Gary Gregory, topped the fleet at the Classic Yacht Regatta, capturing overall honors in the regatta's Classic class and the Atlantic and Sappho trophies. The event also stood as the finale of the North American Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge, and Trevor Fetter's S&S yawl Black Watch was crowned winner of this three-event circuit at the regatta prize-giving ceremony. The 32nd Annual Classic Yacht Regatta, sponsored by Panerai and hosted by the Museum of Yachting, will take place in Newport over the Labor Day weekend, September 2-4. This event includes two days of racing and will draw a fleet that stands as a time capsule of classic design—from small traditional one-designs to large, majestic yachts built over a century ago.
